Life Insurance Corporation of India LIC will conduct online exam for the post of Assistant Engineers (A.E) – Civil/ Electrical/ Structural/ MEP & Assistant Architect (A.A) and Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) Specialist. Interested candidates may apply the online application invited by LIC, India.  Candidates may apply for the post only through online mode, no other means/ mode of application will be accepted.

Educational Qualification:

For Assistant Engineers:

  • For AE (Civil): B.Tech/B.E. (Civil) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should have a minimum of three years working experience in planning and execution of multi-storied building projects with all required infrastructure.
  • For AE (Electrical): B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should have a minimum of three years working experience in planning and execution of multi-storied building projects with all required infrastructure.
  • For Assistant Architect: B. Arch. from a recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should be registered with the Council of Architecture and possess a minimum of three years of experience in designing all types of buildings with allied services. Candidate should also be well versed with green building design requirements and application of AutoCAD software and/or similar type software.
  • For AE (Structural): M. Tech / M.E. (Structural) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/ Institution. Candidate should be well versed with the structural design of high rise building with the foundation system. He/she should be familiar with various standards of BIS pertaining to structural design and Foundation design and must be experienced in the handling of structural engineering software like ETABS, STAAD etc. Candidates applying for the post must possess minimum one-year hands-on experience in the area.
  • For AE (MEP engineers): B. Tech./ B.E. (Mechanical/ Electrical) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in planning and execution of Plumbing /Piping / HVAC system, Lift & Fire Fighting System, Electrical Sub-station in multi-storied buildings.

For Assistant Administrative Officers (Specialist):

  • For AAO (Chartered Accountant) – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have passed Final Examination of Institute of Chartered Accountant and completion of Articles as presented by Institute of Chartered Accountant. The candidate should be Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
  • For AAO (Actuarial) – Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have compulsorily passed 6 or more papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. as on the date of eligibility i.e. 1st February 2020. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
  • For AAO (Legal): Bachelor’s degree in Law or LLM from a recognized Indian University/Institution. Three years of Bar experience is essential.
  • For AAO (Rajbhasha): Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi translation with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level

Post Graduate Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level

     OR

Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at Bachelor’s degree level.

  • For AAO (IT): Graduation degree in Engineering (Computer Science, IT or Electronics), or MCA or MSC (Computer Science) from a recognized Indian University/ Institution.

Approximately Rs. 57,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city

Selection Procedure: LIC Recruitment 2020 AE & AAO

Selection of Assistant Engineers and Assistant Administrative Officers will be done through a three-tiered process and subsequent Pre-recruitment Medical examination.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of the objective test will be conducted online. The test will have three sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Phase-II: Main Examination: Main examination will consist of objective tests for 300 marks and descriptive test for 25 marks. Both the objective and descriptive tests will be online. The objective test will have separate timing for every section. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. The descriptive test will be administered immediately after the completion of the objective test.

Phase-III: Interview Marks obtained in the Main Examination only will be considered for shortlisting for interview.

  • Commensurate to the number of vacancies, LIC reserves the right to fix the minimum eligibility standards in order to restrict the candidates to be called for interview and also fix the minimum qualifying marks to qualify in the interview. Maximum Interview marks are 60 and qualifying marks for EWS, Unreserved, OBC are 30. Qualifying marks for SC /ST/PwBD candidates are 27. Candidates who do not obtain the minimum qualifying marks as decided by LIC shall be excluded from the further selection process. The decision of LIC in this regard shall be final and binding on the candidates and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
  • The number of candidates to be called for interview will be about three times the number of vacancies to be filled in subject to availability of successful candidates in the online main examination and will be pure as per their ranking in their respective category.
  • In case of similar marks of two or more candidates, the merit order of such group of candidates shall be as per the aggregate marks in online main examination and interview and further as per their additional post-graduation qualification (i.e. the person with higher educational qualification will be placed higher in the merit order) and in case of further similarity in educational qualification merit order will be decided on the basis of age, (i.e. senior in age will be placed higher in merit order). LIC will not be bound to take all the candidates with a similar mark. It will only take candidates as per vacancy notified.
    1. Outstation candidates called for interview shall be entitled to reimbursement of Second Class Ordinary to and fro Railway/Bus Fare by the shortest route from the place of residence to the place of the interview to be restricted to the fare by Railway Second Class Sleeper including the Reservation charges.
    2. There will be no contingency/waiting list for candidates not declared successful in the main list. Marks obtained in Main examination plus marks obtained in the interview will be considered for final merit listing.
How to apply: LIC Recruitment 2020 AE & AAO

Candidates can apply online from 25.02.2020 to 15.03.2020. No other mode for application will be accepted.

Before applying online, candidates should be ready with/ for the following

  1. Scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph and signature adhere to the required specifications.
  2. Have a valid personal email ID and mobile no., which should be kept active till the completion of this Recruitment Process. LIC may send call letters for the Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID and mobile number before applying on-line and must maintain that email account and mobile number.
